Set of original 12V car socket and cover with lid for the rear part of the center console
From the 2023 model year, Land Rover has stopped installing the rear center console in the New Defender model, which is designed to accommodate four charging ports, only two ports, with a USB-C input.
They covered the other two ports with non-functional hard caps.
We offer you a solution in the form of a set of 12 V cigarette-type sockets and socket covers/hinged lids.
This is a set consisting of original OEM parts.
In some vehicles, installation is simple: after removing the cover, you will see a split electrical harness with two connectors, one connector powers the USB-C sockets and the other is free.
This second free part will be used to power the 12V cigarette lighter socket. Before connecting the two parts, put the socket cover/lid on the 12V socket, connect the socket to the connector, insert it into the hole in the center panel, push it in and you're done.
For cars where there is no connector after removing the cover, it is necessary to extract power from the USB-C socket port using wiring for installing a 12 V cigarette-type car socket (wiring must be made).
Notice:
To occupy all four ports in the center console, you need to order two sets!
If you order only one set, you will have three ports occupied, namely 2x USB-C and 1x 12V car socket.
After installing both sets, you will have all four ports - 2x 12V car socket and 2x USB-C sockets - occupied and powered at the rear of the center console.
Passengers in the back seats will always have the option of charging their devices, and you can safely charge a refrigerator or battery pack during the journey.
The set includes:
1x 12 V cigarette lighter socket
1x cover/hinged lid for drawers
